Inclusion

Inclusion Team Welcome Letter

We are extremely lucky at St John's to have an experienced Inclusion Team who support our families, children and staff. This year our team has expanded and we have improved our systems and procedures across our school. Our team will offer a range of support for pupils with SEND as well as other families who may need advice or guidance through the year.

If your child is receiving additional interventions with our team, you will be sent a letter outlining the details and targets. When the programme has come to an end you will be updated with your child's progress.

Children on our SEN register will have their own individual action plan which will be shared with you three times a year. Your child's class teacher will meet with you and your child to set and review clear, achievable targets. These meetings are in additional to parent meetings that happen twice a year.

Quality first teaching, that is inclusive of all children will have the biggest impact on your child's learning. At St John's, we strongly believe that all children should access learning within the classroom; sometimes, adaptations and further support needs to be provided in order for this to happen.

If you have any concerns or questions about your child's learning, you should always speak to the class teacher first as they will know your child best. If the class teacher feels it is necessary, they may request a meeting with the SENCO and parents to plan additional support if needed.
